In the summer of 1997 I decided to create a website where I could publish all the information I had gathered while researching my condition, so it could hopefully benefit a lot of people.
We were living in Southern California at the time, and I remember surfing the 'net and deciding to base my website's design on the then current Iditarod dogsled race site. It was maroon and navy blue, if I remember correctly.
Over the past 10 years we have moved about six times -- each time making sure that my MVPS site stayed around, even if the URL had to change constantly depending on what Internet provider we had at the time. Sometime around 2000 I invested in my very own URL of MVPSupport.com, that can follow me everywhere no matter where we move.
My book was published in 2002, and had a good run on Amazon.com. I recently made the decision not to do a re-print, deciding instead to simply come back to my roots and focus on the website which is available to far more people than the book can reach.
The site has gone through many metamorphoses in the past 10 years, each one (I hope) better than the last. This brings me to today, the summer that marks the site's 10
th anniversary of bringing information and support to all those in need.
I hope it still brings as much comfort and knowledge to you today as it did 10 years ago, and for those of you who have faithfully followed me all these years... Thank you.
