Hi, Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I regret the surgery because I went from being a 34A to a 34D - WAY too big! I am a small girl, and now a small girl with really BIG boobs! It seems like people stare at my chest while they are talking to me, I can't wear the cute little tops like I used to (like tank tops or little t-shirts) without feeling self-conscious, and I'm studying to be a lawyer and wonder if I'll be taken seriously with a "sexy" image. I went too big because I admired the gals in the Frederick's catalog, and that's what I showed the doctor when I was telling him how big I wanted to go. I wish I'd gone to a small C or a large B, and when I get them reduced that's what I'm going to do. Still big enough to be able to fill out clothes but not so huge that people stare and that they are way out of proportion to my body. I'm sure you're not going as drastic as me, so you will probably be happy with yours! When I was growing up, Pam Anderson and other big-breasted women were all the rage and I was teased and called "cupcakes" by some people, but hey, now small chests are in, so to heck with what they think. And on the bright side, I have been offered a lucrative career as a stripper on more than one occasion, but as a good Catholic girl I just couldn't do that! So, that is why I regret it!

As far as tendon/ligament problems, I haven't had any. I don't have any back pain either, which is pretty amazing. The only real physical issue I have with them is that it makes it harder to do aerobics and run since they bounce so much. That kinda hurts. But otherwise, no problems.

Good luck with your surgery!
Stacy

I too am a small girl with a 34D chest (not implants, thanks to good ol' genetics (yeah right)!!

My story almost mirrors Yellow Rose! I cant fit in cute tops and dresses most of the time unless they are my size and have stretch in material. THEY HURT when I exercise and I have to strap them down, and when I danced professionally I had to tape them down, which was NOT FUN.

I do get the back pain though...that issue depends on the individual.

I too work in the law field and I feel like I am not taken seriously sometimes. Wearing anything semi form fitting gets lots of stares from fellow paralegals and attorneys.

A 34D is nothing compared to Pam Anderson...she is WELL OVER a D cup. I am hoping, when I get pregnant one day, the good Lord above doesnt make mine grow so huge during it or I WILL look like her for awhile LOL. That wont be fun!!!

Sometimes when these surgeries are done...women go in and say "I want to be a full C" Then they come out looking like a full D. Be careful with that when you get it done...cause they always look bigger than what you go in and ask for. Someone with a 34D chest that has implants looks way bigger than mine...and I am definitely a a full D cup. Its all in the implant and the way it enhances the entire bust. I dont have the fullness at sides of breast like implants offer, or the perky cleavage.

Good luck with your surgery. But do ask a lot of questions before you go through with it!

Stacy and Marrisa,
thank you so much for your responses.
my doctor actually showed me dozens of pictures, then he explained that all of these women say they are a "C" even though they all looked very different. then he asked what my idea of a "C" was( i had askes to be a full C). Do you guys really think that's giant? some of them looked huge, and others looked much smaller.i chose "a pair" that looked very natural to me and not ubsurdly large. he took that picture and put it in my file to take into surgery as a "want to be "photo.
they also discussed my body size with me and the importance of proportion(spelling?).
I am almost 5'7" and have pretty wide shoulders, and my chest measures 36", however my breasts are so small that i have to wear a 34a right now to to fit into any bra.
i was a little concerned that "they" might come out too large, but the doctor assured me that i had the right type of frame to pull it off, and that i would look more balanced after the surgery.
i trust my doctor, he's very good...so we'll see what happens.
thanks again for you input...it has helped a lot. there are so many things to consider!
If i was a petite girl i wouldn't have asked for a "C", i can see how that might get some looks.
LOL,
jennifer

Sounds like you have a very thorough Doctor!!!! That is super!

A "C" cup to me is not big. Mine at a "D" really arent huge, but if I had implants I am sure they would be. If your doctor showed you nice natural teardrop shaped photos then I am sure you are gonna be fine. They should then look really nice and natural.

You sound like you do have the frame to pull off the cup size. I am only 5'4'' so I am sure that has something to do with my back aches. YOU WILL need a good support when you exercise though...that is a must. They will bounce around and hurt.

How much time did the doc expect for you to recover from pain after surgery? I know from people I have seen get it done, this part is really hard.

hi marrisa,
he told me it would quite painful
and to have someone home with me for a week to do EVERYTHING for me.he said not to do anything that would contract the pectoral muscles, even reaching or driving, because of a problem that could be caused with the internal incision and scaring. after 1 week i can resume walking, after 4-6 weeks i can resume normal excersize.
i have 3 boys, so i hope that's long enough to recover!

I have the opposite problem of you girls...I want mine bigger!I am 5'6" and 123lbs,I have 2 kids which made my boobs blow up then shrink down to a B-C but they were a bit saggy!I asked for a big C small D.We decided on 420cc's over filled to 430...it's been almost a year since my surgery and I regret not going bigger everyday when I look at myself. They are def not as full as i wanted them and from the side I don't have much projection. This girl I know got 550cc's and her's are DD and she is my size and they look really good on her! When you think of DD you think "HUGE" but it's really not!I mean mine look way more natural than hers but I think mine look too natural!!In Victorias Secret I wear a 34D but i think they are cut small b/c in others I can wear a C... I will be getting the surgery again to increase the size hopefully in a year or so,also to reduce the areola b/c they got a little out of control!! I feel like I wasted my money b/c I'm not 100% happy with them!

mommyx2,
wow, that's a response i didn't expect!
you're about the same height and weight i am, and it sounds like you are the size they told me i would be. the patient counceler said at victoria's secret the bras run a little small and that there i should expect to buy D.
It sounds like you were much bigger than me to begin with though, maybe that's why the difference doesn't seem so drastic to you.
For me, anything will be a big difference!
It's kind of funny because i antisipated felling the same way. That's why i asked for a full C, instead of a mid or low C. Just to cover my bases so i wouldn't want to do it again.

My surgeon has already given me a prescription for an antibiotic, a pain reliever, and something for nasuea to fill before the surgery. The antibiotic i will start the night before surgery and then continue for 5 days after. They also put me on a special vitamin regamin( they provided the vitamins) called VitaMetica. 4 bottles of things all together. I was really impressed that they did that. They are made especially for surgery to promote healing, prevent bruising, and boost your ammune system. They also gave me a list of about 50 things that i cannot take.

Did you have any troubles at all? How long did it take for you to feel like yourself again? Were you able to deal with your kids??
thanks so much for your reply!sorry to ramble on...

When I had my surgery, I didn't have kids at the time. I felt pretty much back to my old self within a week or so. I was on heavy-duty painkillers for a few days, but after that I could tolerate the discomfort with just some Tylenol. One bad thing about the after-surgery period was getting up to go to the bathroom on the first couple of days post-op. I had to have someone help me to stand up because it hurt so much to use the muscles in my chest and arms to pull myself up out of bed. All in all, it was not bad, though. Also, I have the teardrop-shaped implants and they look VERY real. They don't look like big, round grapefruits like a lot of implants do. My husband didn't know they were fabulous fakes until I told him, and he is a "breast man." Also, since I had my daughter, they don't sag at all. I know a lot of women have problems with sagging with natural breasts after having kids, but thankfully mine are still pretty much like they were before I gave birth, except for a few stretch marks. I was SO excited before my surgery, as I am sure you are! I know it will go well for you and you'll come through the post-op period just fine.

As soon as the anesthisia wore off I woke right up and was ready to go!I could have walked out to the car but they had to take me in a wheel chair bc of regulations. My mother drove me home though!I was never in any "pain" really...it was just uncomfortable...it felt like I just did 1,000 push ups...my chest muscles felt very tight(I got mine under)...I only took the pain killers for the first 2 days after that I didnt take anything...From the time I got home I could walk upstairs to use the bathroom and basically do everything myself except they tell you not to lift anything heavy and my son was 1 at the time so that was hard for me but I just let him climb up on my lap...but after a few days i was holding him on my hip again...I would def do it again! and I will!! One thing that i reccomend doing is not telling the dr that you want to be a C or a D cup...go find a pic of the size boobs that you want and show your dr b/c i made the mistake of telling my PS a big C small D and now that I look at the different sizes I really wanted to be a full D small DD!!sounds huge but it's not!oh I have pics(clothed!! if you want to see..the good thing is I can play them up when I go out with a nice push up bra from VS or I can play them down for work...

Thanks for mentioning VS bras run small - I always wondered why the ones I bought felt binding and uncomfortable for some reason. I bought 34D, which is my normal size, but I guess I need a DD in VS bras. I usually wear minimizer bras anyway, my favorite being the Wacoal brand because they minimize better than any others I've tried!

Hi. I'm new to the site, having been recently diagnosed. My symptoms began after my first pregnancy last year. But have gotten alot worse since my second delivery this past fall. I also want to get implants, which I promised myself I would do after having our children. Then all of this mess arose. My question concerns the anesthesia situation as well. Have any of you had any problems with refusals by physicians/anesthesiologists to treat you since it is an elective surgery and they don't want the hassle? I'm not saying it will happen. I just wondered if it will something else to deal with. Also, what is it about having a baby that will cause the symptoms to elevate this way? Thank you for listening.

I am having this surgery in a little more than a week from now and there was no hesitation on my doctors behalf. Also if you read the responses I recieved from our fellow sufferers they have had no problems with the anesthesia. However i am highly sensative to epinephrine based anesthesia, and will discuss options with my sergeon.

As far as MVP, it is often a major life changing event that brings on the first symptoms of the condition even though it is usually genetic and with you your whole life. My symptoms started 12 years ago when my first child was 3 months old.

hey mommyx2,

when i had my first appointment they showed me literaly 50 pictures of woman who all looked different to me, then told me all these woman claim to be a C. Then they asked which "pair" looked like my idea of a C....so i understand what your saying. I chose the "ones" i would like to have and that is what they will go by during the surgery.
They are also using implants that are put in empty and then filled once implanted. that way they can best achieve the look that i am going for.

You guys are so wonderful to respond to this topic. I was so nervous a week ago, and now thanks to all the feedback i've gotten i'm actually getting excited(in a good way)!!... and i would love to see pictures!

thank you everybody!!!
